“Don’t Apologize For Wanting More Out Of Life!”

Most of us have made New Year’s resolutions and I hope that you are sticking to what you set out to achieve this year! I hope your goals are big and that you aren’t letting anyone or anything get in your way! This week I wanted to talk to you about “Don’t Apologize For Wanting More Out Of Life!”

Since we were little children, we have been programmed to keep up with modern day society. Meaning, finishing high school, getting a college degree, and getting a good 9-5 job that offers benefits/security. Trust me, none of these things are bad or wrong. I’m not knocking anyone who likes working a 9-5 or is proud of their college degree. I, for one, have a doctorate degree in physical therapy and spent a quarter of my life sitting behind a desk. I’ve personally always felt that I wanted more out of life than working for someone else, working in the same job for 40 years, and my wages barely moving for all the hard work I was putting in. I knew there had to be more than waking up every day, dreading to head to work to treat the same ungrateful patients I would see all the time. And let me tell you, there’s NOTHING wrong with wanting more out of life!

Heed my warning!

If you take the path of starting a new life to better yourself and fulfill your purpose, you will face nay-sayers and critics. It is natural for people who are afraid to step out of their bubble to accept your desire to want more out of life. They will want to pull you back on their level and potentially feed you negativity. Don’t be surprised if your family, friends, and current co-workers brush you off or oust you if your life doesn’t match theirs. Their insecurities and jealousy will manifest in being critical and doubtful of you. Friend, do not and I repeat DO NOT let their voices win! Brittany and I have faced these things during our journey of building BB Education. Our family thought we were crazy, especially when I quit my 9-5 job. Boy, did we prove them wrong! Friends that used to be close to us are now distant. When you reach another level of life, you desire a new level of life for yourself.

What do you want in life?

At the end of your life, do you want to look back and say I gave it all I’ve got! I took the chance, started the business, changed lives, made impact, achieved financial freedom. Or…do you want to look back and be filled with regret? You stuck to that same job for 40 years that you hated. You never took the risk, you never started the business you’ve always wanted, you never wanted to leave what felt “comfortable”. I’m not sure which one of these two boats you’re sitting in right now but I hope you will be sitting in the boat of no regrets! I want to encourage you today to dive deep into your purpose, your dreams, and what you want out of life. If you want more than you currently have, then what the heck is holding you back? Take action today! I am here for you throughout your journey! Your success is our success!
